Those of you already familiar with the process of buying at auction may wish to move straight on to the calendar of forthcoming sales, and view our latest catalogues. For those who are new to auctions, or wish for clarification of the ways in which bids may be made, here is a quick primer:
The best way to by at any auction is, of course, in person. Personal attendance at a pre-sale view means that you can examine items to your complete satisfaction (see our terms), and being present at an auction allows greater flexibility in bidding. Full details of how to find us are available on the contact page.
Should you be unable to attend a sale, this website offers access to our sale catalogues, together with pictures of each lot as they become available. In common with all Auctioneers we are happy to accept commissions to bid on your behalf. This means that, having viewed the catalogue and made any enquiries you feel are necessary (see terms), you authorise us to bid for you, stipulating a maximum price (minus premium - see charges). We will, within that limit, attempt to buy the desired lot as cheaply as possible allowing for other bids and/or reserves.
It should be noted that, at this time, bids cannot be placed directly from your web browser - that facility is coming soon - but they may be emailed, or posted/faxed to us, on the form provided. Please provide your full name and contact details, as well as the number(s) of the lot(s) that you wish to bid on, together with a maximum price (excluding premium).
For items in our Specialist Sales it is possible to book telephone lines to bid on items over £500 estimated value, and in some other cases. Please contact us for details.
