A late 17th Century silver twin-handled porringer, c.1680, the bulbous body embossed with a hunting scene and foliage, on circular footrim, the scroll handles modelled as winged cherubs, the rim with (later) chased arms, ducal coronet and the motto 'Semper Fidelis', maker's mark 'PB', approx. weight 16 troy oz. The arms are those of Francis Egerton, Duke of Bridgwater.
