A European carved and painted ivory figure of a priest, carrying a cross, height 12.5cm (5in.).

A 19th Century rosewood and brass bound writing slope, the interior fitted with two glass inkwells, the lock stamped W. Muckleston, width 41.5cm (16 1/4in.).

Master McGrath, two yellow metal seal intaglios, with the armorial bearings of Lord Lurgan, embellished with a portrait of Master McGrath; together with a copy of Sporting Review, February 1869, and four cranberry wine glasses etched with the portrait with a medal beneath. Master McGrath was the most famous coursing greyhound of the 19th Century, winning the Waterloo cup in 1868, 1869 and 1871, a record, and was summoned to visit Queen Victoria such was his celebrity. When he died of heart disease in 1871 he was found to have a heart almost twice the size of an average dog.

An oak and mahogany banded eight-day longcase clock, the replacement movement with painted dial, subsidiary seconds and calendar aperture, signed Jno Blaylock, Longtown, phases of the moon to the arch, four pillar movement, the case enclosed by a shaped panel door, plinth base, the break arch hood with broken swan neck pediment and flanked by fluted columns, height 221cm (83in.).
