SELLING WITH US

We hold a range of auctions throughout the year, ensuring that all catagories of goods are exposed to the best possible market. Thus, in addition to the fornightly auctions of antique and later furniture and effects, we hold frequent sales for higher value, and more specialised lots. See the About Us section for details of the broad range of items that we are accustomed to deal with.

The key to realising a good price for any item sold by auction is publicity. We advertise our specialist auctions in the national antiques press, as well as locally, and, as you can see on our Catalogues page, we also publish them on the internet. Furthermore we have mailing lists, and keep records of past purchasers, so that potential buyers may be alerted, directly, to any lots that may interest them. In this way we ensure that interested parties from any location are able to take part in bidding.

Consignments for sale can be made at our premises in Hampshire The Lymington Salerooms, Emsworth Road, Lymington) on weekdays between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., and in Dorset (The Wimbourne Office) on weekdays between 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m.. You may also enter items at any of our valuation sessions. Please note, however, that it may not be possible for us to recieve larger items or large number of items at our Wimborne premises, or at Romsey. In these cases arrangements can be made for haulage (carried out by a third party - charges vary). If you are in any doubt, please contact us before attempting delivery.

Items are assigned to a sale, catalogued and sold at our discretion. Reserves must be agreed, and may be no higher than the bottom end of our estimate. As a general rule, we do not accept reserves for items in the fortnightly sale unless we judge them to be worth £100 or more.
