Valuation services
Items may be brought along to one of our regular Valuation Days at which we are happy to provide advice and to suggest an auction estimate without charge or obligation. Alternatively, and especially if an item is too large to transport easily, you can send us a digital image via our online valuation service. If appropriate, we can also arrange for a valuer to visit your home.
Written Valuations
We carry out written valuations for Insurance and for Inheritance Tax Purposes. Please contact Greta Reeves (01590 670070) for further information or to arrange an appointment.
Inheritance Tax Valuations
An open market valuation is often needed as part of the procedure for obtaining probate when someone dies. We understand that this needs to be carried out swiftly and with sensitivity and aim to attend the premises of the deceased within forty-eight hours if required. We can, also, arrange for high value items to be removed from the property for safe keeping.
Insurance Valuations
Being properly insured is important and we offer a thorough service which is totally confidential. As well as providing a traditional written valuation, we offer a set of digital images of the principal items at no extra cost.
Details of charges
Open Market Valuations 1.5 % (+VAT) on the first £10,000 and 1% (+VAT) thereafter
Insurance Valuations 1% (+VAT)
Fees for large insurance valuations are negotiable.
There is a minimum charge for all written valuations of £170 (+VAT).
