At George Kidner, we aim to provide a fully professional service whilst still treating our clients as individuals. With a wide range of experience and expertise at our disposal, and an extensive programme of specialist and general sales, we are able to advise on high value collections as well as more modest individual items.
Having decided against a career in the law, George has worked in the Fine Art auctioneering business since 1977. Starting out with Phillips in London, he worked successively for Bonhams, Sothebys and Bonhams (again!) before setting up his own saleroom in 1991. He carries out most of the Insurance and Probate Valuations and is the principal cataloguer for Paintings and Silver.
A local man, and already established at the saleroom in Lymington, Andrew joined George Kidner when they took over the premises in 1992. His main areas of responsibility are now furniture, ceramics and collectors’ items but his extensive experience over the years allows him to deal with almost any query that comes his way.
Richard joined the company in 1997 after studying at Brockenhurst College. He is now responsible for cataloguing most of the furniture and the mixed lots. He also turns his hand to many other aspects of the business and offers help wherever it is needed.
